It has been months since my last post. I wish I could say life was better, but it is just different. Not better. My husband was released from the day program. His diagnosis OCD and severe depression. They started him back to work slowly. The week he was to go back full time he became ill. After three weeks, one week in the hospital, he was diagnosed with ulcers. Whenever he tries to work he hiccups horribly. The doctor has him working part time.
He is in bed all the time. I am discouraged, angry, worried and hopeless. My therapist encouraged me to come up with alternatives and not think about him. But he is here in my home and hard to ignore. His therapist says it will get better--but when. It has been years. The last few months have been so hard. The kids are sick of it. We all keep getting our hopes up for improvement, but there is so little. It is like one day he is up for 6 hours, the next day in bed for 23 hours.
Not sure what to do anymore.

I am sorry that you are in this situation. I would tend to agree with continuing with therapy for yourself and keep working at trying to take care of you right now.

I hope your situation gets better soon.  Take care of you.

Hi there
I was wondering how you were doing. I am sorry that you are not seeing an improvement.
But, I will say that he is taking some small steps to get better,so hopefully once they have the ulcer in control then he will not have any more excuses to get out of bed.
I agree with Kitt about making sure you continue your therapy for yourself. You have to look out for you before you can even think about helping him.

What about scheduling a vacation? Just schedule it,and then if he wants to go then great..if not then at least you and the kids can get out for awhile?

Please stay strong and keep us posted.

At therapy last week he finally admitted his job was on the line. His doctor told him medication has done all it can, now it is up to him. His ulcers are acting up today, he cant work. This brings him even closer to termination. I begged him to get up, he said that makes his ulcer worse. I even offered to drive him. I am so upset I can not get to my desk to work.
We have two kids who are going to suffer so much because of him. I do not know how much more I can handle. I cry every day. All I can do is pray and hope. God must be carrying me right now, because all I want to do is crumble up into a little ball and disappear.

Is there anyway that he can go back to the program? He needs to figure out what he wants out of life, and it can't be just lying in the bed.
I am so sorry that you are having to go through this... this is not fair for you or the kids.
