Friends,

I'd appreciate if you'd keep my family in your thoughts and prayers. My mother died today after battling a recurrent colon infection for the past year and a half. I'm especially worried about my dad- he's almost 83 and they would have been married for 60 years this year.

I'm worried about being able to keep my sugar under my usual control while we travel and go through the funeral process. I saw my bg level rise 25 points in the hour after I got the news. (Always curious about what different stressors do to me- how perverse is that?)

Thanks,
sandy

Sandy, I'm so sorry about your mom.  And I hope you, your dad and the rest of the family stay strong for one another.  A tough loss to go through.  And take care of yourself too.

Oh Sandy, I'm so very sorry.

Neither our parents age nor illness can prepare you for their loss. I know your mother would have been very proud of her daughter though. I wish you and your family peace and strength.

Best wishes,

Sandy,

My prayers are with you and your family. Take extra good care of yourself because your dad is going to need you now. But do give yourself time to grieve. We are here for you.

Hi Sandy, I am new here and just want to add my sympathy for the loss of your mother. I understand what you are saying about stress affecting your diabetes. I hope all goes well and you find peace with her loss. Prayers for your dad, I am sure he will have quite an adjustment.
