I have been cutting my lantus down three units every couple of days and still have trouble keeping my blood glucose up. If your bg is way down and you eat to get it up, how long should it take to show results on the meter? I can only seem to get it up maybe 3 or 4 points no matter how much sugar I eat. Is this normal? Plus, I am losing about a half pound a day. Is something else going on? Thanks for any help:)

Yikes! Call your doctor! Something is not quite right here. Nobody should lose weight that fast. Let us know how this works out, ok?

Thanks Jeannie:) I called my Internist and can't get in until the 29th. I am going to keep cutting the Lantus and see how it goes. If it doesn't get better soon, I will call the endo. My best friend who was diagnosed the same week I was has stopped losing weight and is holding steady. I don't even have to try to lose. This sure never happened to me before. I haven't been this thin in twenty years and I am still on pred.
