Hi:)

My doctor's office sent my test results. I am controlling the cholesterol by diet alone. Numbers are:

Total cholesterol..........177

Triglycerides...............125

HDL............................49

LDL.............................10

A1C.............................5.8(still on 10mg of pred)

Question, Is 10 too low for LDL? How do I get the HDL up some? I gave up almost all fats. Can I add some back or should I keep on doing what I am doing? Have Dr. appt. Thursday and will see what she says. She wrote these are good scores. Thoughts? Thanks:)

Hi ceebee, I have no idea how to bring the LDL up.  I don't think you have to give up all fats.  Are you using or cooking with olive oil or canola oil?  But your A1c is good considering you're still on prednisone.  Tell us what the doctor says after you see her.

You can raise your HDL with avocodos, peanuts, olives and olive oil. Your LDL is awesome!
