This is an interesting perspective and explanation of the "Caveman" or ancestral diet and why it's something to consider:

There are a number of truths and/or reasons to think about what he's saying (especially about the allergies). I don't follow anyone's specific diet but I find there is an underlying commonality to many of them (Bernstein, Atkins, Nothing White, etc.)....

- the body does not need grains
- eating veg & fruit & nuts will give you all the fibre you need
- fruit is NOT bad to eat
- eating fat does not make fat - eating starch does (accounts for about 80% of today's diet)
- diabetes = cannot metabolize starch

... just to name a few. Hope you check it out. Enjoy!

Kris,
All I can say is WOW! shocked That was what I was trying to emulate from my research. One of the books I have read (can't remember which one now...) noted that tooth decay and symptoms of diabetes didn't show up in early humans until agriculture began. Also, the Inuit peoples of the north had strong and healthy teeth before their introduction to Twinkies and such.

When I read this guy's stuff though, I think I might mix it up a bit. Just fruit for breakfast and just nuts for lunch might goof up my numbers.... I"m gonna have to test this out when I have more time.

Thanks for that post and the link! Awesome!
