My meter reading

I found out I have diabeties just 5 months ago, and so far, my blood is anywhere from 81 to109, which I think is really good, my doctor says it's GREAT! I just make sure I have a fist size of carbs everyday at every meal and watch the fat. I eat small portions, and I eat at least something every 2-3 hours, even if it's just a hand full of nuts or a spoonful of low sodium and fat peanut butter, or a 1/2 cup of strawberries. Then I eat a very small dinner, like, spinach salad and some low sodium soup or a boiled potatoe...It's not too hard most of the time, but some days I want a whole lot more....oh wellllllllllll, I do spurge every 2 weeks, but it doesn't seem to hurt anything. I am on Mediforum, and that helps. I have lost 50lbs, which is what I really needed to do. I feel better now.  Thanks for listening... :-)

Sounds like you have already got a handle on it!! Way to go!!!
Hang in there with it. It is so worth the effort.

Hi Kissssy,

What were your readings when diagnosed?Your Blood Sugar readings aren't what I consider high.A Friend had a FBS during routine Blood work and got a BS reading of 107 or 109.I can't recall the name,but her Doctor Prescribed a Medication to prevent her from becoming Diabetic.Remember Healthy Fats like Avocado ARE good!

That weight loss is awesome. If you are having some hunger attacks you can eat protein and healthy fats (like your peanut butter) to help you over the hump. I find that a 1 inch square block of mozarella cheese and about 8 almonds or 18 peanuts will do the trick. Glad to welcome you here and happy to make a new friend but not for the reason of diabetes.
