have introduced myself before the post below. As I mentioned it appears I am either pre-diabetic or have developed Type 2 diabetes. I have been having some other health issues (upper abdominal pain, digestive issues) that may or may not be related to the diabetes (the diabetes may be an incidental finding while trying to diagnose the cause of the pain). I'm 42, obese, female, with a family history of diabetes (which I wasn't even aware of until my 83-year old mother was diagnosed in January - sadly she died shortly after her diagnosis from an ruptured aneurysm). I have a wonderful husband and child, and oh, yeah, I'm absolutely terrified by this whole diabetes thing. I feel like I should have known, should have done something, should have lost weight, should have realized the risk I was taking - as a bonus I've been experiencing the onset of anxiety attacks (which started after my mother's death and these health issues surfaced). I'm pretty much falling apart...njam

Hey, njam, take a deep breath and you'll be ok.  I answered your other post.  Go read it and let's see how we can help, ok?
