I don't want to create any false hopes but this one seems promising, if only because the drugs involved have already been through the trials period (over-the-counter allergy treatments & other tested items). From what I've read and experienced, it seems that once an announcement is made and the treatment comes under government scrutiny, it disappears into limbo. This one; supported by Harvard no less; seems to have a little more than a glimmer of hope.
Plus, the Sick Kids doctor (Dr. Michael Dosch) I heard this morning has a sense of humour. When asked why he took on the cause, he replied, "When I started medical school 3 weeks ago (chuckle), I decided that I wanted to be part of a cure for a disease." He is obviously no spring chicken and has spent most of his life working on diabetes. I trust (almost) anyone that has a sense of humour
(except the guy that sold me my truck -- HE had the last laugh!)
Anyway, I'm going to keep after this story. Stay tuned.
