I've just recently been diagnosed with Insulin Resistance and PCOS.  My endocrinologist put me on Metformin and a 1000 calorie/125g carb per day diet.  Does anyone know of any place I can find recipes or help with making sure that I'm getting enough protein and the right kind of filling foods to eat during the day?  I ate a salad today and got really nauseaous after taking my Met.  I ate a small amount of pudding and it seemed to take it away.  That makes me wonder if I'm doing something wrong.

Welcome to the forum :-)

I'm not taking any medications so I'm not qualified to comment but keep checking back.  There are many more here that will be glad to help.

Welcome cncrsrvivr.  If your endo gave you this diet plan and you follow it, why are you worried about getting enough protein?  Maybe you should go back and ask the endo for more specific food items.  Like Chris, I don't take meds either and I also follow a very low carbohydrate plan:  lots of vegetables and salads but no corn, potatoes, rice or bread.  I eat all sorts of meat, poultry and fish, cheese and nuts.  Low carb plans are better for keeping blood sugar lower but you'd better consult with your doctor first.
Also, please look at some of our other threads that talk about metformin.  Some members have discussed this medication and the best ways to help avoid some of those side effects.
