Well, there's something to be said for having an annual eye exam with an ophthalmologist... When I called about a "waving curtain" moving across my sight they got me in in three hours! As part of my regular care I see the eye doc every spring and I've been doing fine. All of a sudden on Saturday my left eye was totally strange. I thought I had a piece of lint in my eyelashes. Turned out the thing was inside my eyeball.

It was very reassuring to sit in the doc's office and watch the little video describing exactly what I've been experiencing but not such happy news to realize that it's "just a part of aging". Normal "floater" activity from my goo inside the eyeball shrinking away from the eye... Thanks doc! He says I'll get used to it, not to worry and he wants to see me in six weeks. (sigh!)

I hate it when they say that! NO problem! Don't worry... and I want to see you again in six weeks. I'm just feeling a little sorry for myself. I'd have a pity party but probably none of you would want to come... so I'll just put on my big girl pants and get over it.

A year ago I had laser procedures in both eyes because of high pressure behind the eye (beginnings of glaucoma, thank you diabetes, probably) and now I take drops everyday.  I had floaters too and got that same lecture.......  as we age....    mad
But hey, Jeannie, remember that video?  Get up.  We'll finish strong.  yeah

I've had to deal with floaters since I was in my 20s. I've got glaucoma. :(
Love the drops :(

I've got 'em too (floaters).  Why is it that only the Dougie Houser types always say 'Nothing to worry about'? (he asked rhetorically ;-)

... and why are there no rhetorical answers??? ... oh, never mind ;-)

It's because they hadn't had to deal personally with the squiggles, dots, lines, and knots.
