I will be the first to admit I'm an airhead. I have lots going on and my short term memory is not so good from my fibromyalgia... But this morning, after last night's big family feast and too many nibbles on cookies I wasn't so hungry. Had my eggs and then mixed up a batch of chex mix. Had a small bowl of that and worked in the office most of the day. about five I was reading a story to my granddaughter and got that "falling down a well" feeling... sort of out of it. Told my daughter and she went and got my testing kit. I was at 70. She got me some orange juice and 5 minutes later I tested and was at about 68. She got me a handful of Skittles. Ten minutes later I was at 81 and rejoining the world of the living.

Wasn't until she questioned me that I realize I hadn't eaten properly all day. Haven't had one of these low sugar attacks in quite some time. Now, I need to give myself a good talking to and to start doing as I'm supposed to, on time, the right way! So if you hear some yelling around here it's just me telling myself to shape up.

Naaaaw, you're not an airhead.  You got caught up with being busy - and that's a good reminder for everyone to try to keep to our regime during the holidays, especially when out of the house for hours and hours shopping, etc.  I'm glad you were home and you recovered nicely.

And one last reminder:  wash your hands, don't touch your mouth, eyes or nose so you don't spread germs!  Be safe and healthy!

Jeannie, I've never felt that feeling, but I do know if I don't eat before I go to the gym I can't finish my workout.

I think type II's have less trouble with hypoglycemia - is that correct?

Actually, Judy, it depends upon which meds you are on. I used to be on Avandia and the stuff put me in Low Blood sugar attacks about 4 or 5 times a week. I haven't had a low on metformin in years... But I just refilled my script. Wonder if the pharmacy changed suppliers or something...
