Sorry, yes, Lanie's right. I have type 1 and never smelled anything unusual, even when I was running super-high at diagnosis. I read that sweet-smelling urine can be caused by uncontrolled diabetes, probably more of a type 2 symptom than a type 1. I also ran across something called maple syrup urine disease, but it doesn't sound like it fits your descript
