What can you folks tell me about Byetta?  I've heard that there could be some nausea problems.  I have acid refulx with chronic gastritis and was wondering in Byetta might worsen the problem?

Marburg,

Without getting to technical people new to byetta need to understand that they need to eat less food because the medicine will make them feel full faster. People who overeat often get sick because their stomach does not like all that food stuck in it. You should also watch your intake of fatty or greasy foods for a few months as those will trigger nausea too.

I hope this helps. Byetta is the best thing that has happened to me.

Thanks. I just found out from the makers of Byetta that it is probably not a good option for me because of chronic gastritis.

Hiya yaya,

Welcome to the forum :-) I don't take Byetta or Lantus but there are others here that do. They'll chime in to offer advice in a little while I'm sure. The forum has been a bit slow lately -- I think some of us are still getting used to 2010 smilewinkgrin
