My ds was dx at 18 months.  He is now 2.5 yr old.  He's been on an insulin pump for a little over a week now. Just wanted to introduce myself and see if there were any other parents of diabetic children.

How old are you now? I'm just wondering what my son must think. We just put him on the pump too, I was worried if it was the right thing to do since he is too small to have any input on the decision but I think he's much happier. He is adjusting well to it.

I am almost 16 now. I have been on different pumps for 6 1/2 years. They are much better than NPH, which was what I used to use.

I'm glad to hear you are both happy and healthy. I love the pump. We are still adjusting basal rates but it's much better than the four shots a day he was getting.

Just want to say that all of you are an inspiration to me. Whenever I get frustrated with counting and charting and remembering and just plain having diabetes I'll think of how well you are all handling it. Thank you for posting!
