I think that I have been having problems with frozen shoulder in both of my shoulders. It limits your flex ability to raise your arms above your head and to reaching behind your back. Sleeping at night is really tough. I have had to sleep on my back face up with a pillow under each arm to raise them up so they do not bend. This has been going on for about 4 weeks and I am starting to get a little better. I have been doing motion exerises with both arms, applying heat to both shoulders and my neck daily. Also been using electrical shock to treat both shoulders. I have also cut out all carbs to lower blood sugars. Is there any thing else I can do?

Oh gosh, I'm sure that's painful. I haven't had this although I've dealt with hip bursitis several times. I had physical therapy, steroid injections and pills, and I used Bengay, Tiger Balm, heating pads and my own stretches that I found online to help. What has your doctor said about this?

Here is something from a website about treatment: www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/166186.php?page=2

I wish I could help you more.

Lanie I am going to see the VA today. I am sure they will not have any idea of what I am talking about. I did some searching on the internet to find out what was going on. Just another old persons aches/pains thing related to diabetes.

I've had my share of aches and pains (still do) and at times they have been debilitating. Be honest and describe in detail how it affects your everyday life and how it limits your activities. Good luck!

Captaindd,
I was diagnosed with frozen shoulders. In my case it was a build up of collagen in the facia tissue causing limited motion. Xiaflex injections is a new FDA approved drug called clostridium histolyticum . It is an enzyme produced by the bacterium Clostridium histolyticum that dismantles collagen. It is used as a powder-and-solvent injection kit for the treatment of Dupuytren's contracture, a condition where the fingers bend towards the palm, frozen shoulder, Ledderhouse in feet & removing scar tissue and more types of applications are coming down the pipeline.
It has also worked very well in my hands and feet.

Take care.

The Va said to keep doing the exercises that I have been doing and let them know if it got worse. The Chotti for the additional info I will look into the items you listed. In less than a month I will be back to commmerical fishing so if nothing else I will endure the pain but will work it out of my system.
