I have two favorite snacks. I go to the local health food grocery store and get lots of different kinds of nuts and seeds. Flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, almonds, etc. I get the RAW version, not roasted or salted or anything else. Then I come home and empty all the packages into a big bowl and mix it all together...kinda like trail mix but without the raisens. I take little zip lock sandwich bags, put about a cup full of my mix in there with a plastic spoon and zip it shut. NOW I have a portable snack that will
1) cut my hunger (nuts and seeds do that)2) has all kinds of good stuff for you.
The carbs in this mix shouldn't move your BS that much but the benefits are great. My OTHER really favorite snack is sugar free jello. You can get the small jello cups at the supermarket so you can take them with you or you can make up a big batch and just keep it in the fridge. No calories, no carbs. Its kinda empty food but it satisfies my sweet tooth!
PS - giving up "chips" was one of the hardest things, but Rachel, they are horrible for pushing your BS through the ceiling.
