I have a small solution that may help some of us. (But not the uncontrolled peeps.)
Admit it, it's the once-a-year thing that gets to us and makes it so hard to resist them...
So here's a little tip. Get yourself some psylium fiber (Metamucil or store brand) , sugar-free if possible, and keep it on hand. If you have a
cookie problem (read: Snarf on a few
cookies!) get out the psylium and a glass of water. Mix a heaping tablespoon into a glass of cool water and drink it down right away. Rinse the glass with more water and drink that, too.
Here's the deal. The fiber in psylium acts mechanically to slow down the carb absorption from your intestines. IT DOES NOT BLOCK THE CALORIES OR THE CARBS. It only slows down the peaks in your blood sugar so you don't go so high and you stay medium longer without the sugar crash.
Now, this is not permission to snarf
Just a little help for you if you get into trouble.
And the good news is that it helps with all kinds of carbs if you overindulge.
