be aware of kidney problems if you have diabetes

if you have diabetes and kidney problems, then the kidneys may have gone wrong before or because of the diabetes
either way, its been my experience that ordinary docs know very little and sadly diabetes specialists know much less about kidneys than they should
its essential to also get a kidney specialist, preferable a younger one as all older specialist docs generally dont bother to keep up to date, ie they are politely described as conservative

Thank you for the heads-up on this, Harry. Kidney problems are what my dad's doctor is basing his suggestion to "plan meals/snacks around carbohydrates" which doesn't make any sense to me considering the diabetic inability to break down sugars.

This is all so confusing.
