I'm concerned as to why you are asking this. As with any medication you should be taking it according to your doctor's instruction.

Yes there is an Insulin-Resistance Diet. I eat according to its principles. My daughter currently has borrowed my copy, but if you go to Amazon.com and search for The Insulin-Resistance Diet you will find the book there. There are about 90 reader critiques of the book and eating plan.

Since I have been eating this way and exercising regularly, my 14 day BG average has dropped to 85. My last A1c was 5.2. This eating plan works extremely well for me.

Good luck!

I really don't know much about medications for type 2 and insulin resistance, but I don't think your doctor would be prescribing a dose that would cause you to overdose. I'm sure someone else will have more information on byetta than I do.

Hi,

10mcg twice a day is definately not to much as there have been a few years worth of research studies on that particular level with the Byetta folks.  I personally take that dose and have no trouble whatsoever.

HOWEVER, you do have to follow the instructions.  Once in the morning and once in the evening.  I once took two of them way to close together and it made me really really nauseous for about 3-5 hours!  That was the extent of the overdose effect but it wasn't pleasant, so I certainly wouldn't advocate taking it in any way other than the way it is prescribed!

But to answer your question 10mcgs twice a day at opposite ends of the day is perfectly safe and effective.

PS.....

Muscle weighs more than fat, so a good measure of your progress is losing INCHES. If you replace fat with muscle you may actually GAIN weight while replacing your old self with a svelte new self!

I went to the dr. today. I'm at 6 wks. on byetta. I've not lost any weight but, I've lost 5 inches in my waist. I was thrilled!
I also, found out that I might have fibromyaliga or lupus. I have no clue what that is. He is going to do more blood work in 3 months. He seems to think that the byetta will help my numbers to go down. So, he wants to give me more time on it....I stay tired alot....some days I can hardly get out of bed...and that isn't me at all....
thanks for the replys warren....your support means alot....as i'm totally new at this and I can use all the help I can get...
