Hi Ruth,

I've never tried Prozac, but I'm on Lexapro, and have been since early 2005. I am controlling my sugars pretty well so far with only a small dose of meds, so I don't think that the antidepressant is causing any problems for me. You might ask your doctor... I looked online (google Prozac Blood Sugar) and found several articles about this. I'm not sure I totally understood all that I read, but some do suggest a possible effect. I think it's really a matter of how bad you're feeling. I personally don't want to go back to the way I was without antidepressants regardless of the risk. I have a family history of diabetes, so I really doubt that the antidepressants caused it in me, although I suppose it's possible.

Let us know (if you try it) if it has any effect on your sugars... I would be interested to know.
