My hubby, who also suffers from a chronic condition brought up an interesting point. He said he thought that as a general rule, he thinks the percentage of women that post regularly here is much higher than men. I'm wondering if he's right or not..?

What do you think?

Hi Bear, I think he's probably right regarding the Diabetes Forum but on the other forums, I don't know.  And how are you doing, Bear? smurf  Lanie

Hi Lanie,

Well that's another topic entirely... :-) . I have missed being here. I still manage a few minutes to come on here and read, but I just finished my 3 month training at work and now I'm on a more manageable work schedule. I have to admit I've been slacking on my testing for a while, but at least I've stuck to my diet through it all.

Glad to be back with you all!

P.S. Regarding the "girl vs boy" thing... I have given this website to a couple of men from work that are having trouble keeping their sugars down. as well as my son-in-law who has horridly high numbers, yet they don't come on and read or join. I just wonder if hubby is right????

Hi Bear, I'm glad you finished your training.  What a relief, right?  Don't fret about slacking off on the testing.  You've been sticking to your diet and that's important.  Testing tells us that we're on track and hopefully we now know what keeps us there.  And for the 'boys/girls' - there are hundreds of silent readers on here who don't actively participate but hopefully gather useful information.  It just seems there are more women than men who participate on the Diabetes forum regularly at this time.  Take care.

I think it's kind of a mindset for many men. They may equate disease with weakness...

I just see it as a man "thang".
