I just wanted to post to you all, and say HI!! I am new here.  Just got the link to this site from a friend (Thanks Adrienne!).     I have kind of browsed the forums and found them to look like an AWESOME place to get some good info/stories/etc.    A little about me,  well,  I have a couple health issues,  that sometimes really seem to take over my life!!  For one,  I have an inflammatory Bowel Disease called Ulcerative Colitis.   Add this on top of Diabetes,  and it seems all I'm doing is worryin about my health/diet/meds/ etc.    I hate having to think about my health all the time,  but its kind of important, I guess. I have a husband and 2 kids (and myself!) to keep healthy for.   But, I"ll tell ya,  it really gets waring sometimes!!  *sigh*       I look forward to chatting with everyone here!!   :-)

Welcome, Christie. Sounds like you have your hands full. I think we would all agree with you that these diseases do take not only a physical toll but also a mental one. That's why these forums are so great. We can all share, support, and occasionally vent. We'll look forward to hear more from you.

Welcome Christie,
Glad your friend pointed you this way. I look foward to your posts and will help in anyway I can. I also have IBD and other stuff to deal with and it can be a handful at times.

Oh I know....its like what you can eat for the IBD,  is not good for your Diabetes, and vice versa.     So diet wise is challenging.

Hi all, I have posted a few times already and hope I haven't overstepped my bounds. I am T2 for 20+years. I also have diverticulous (the condition) and colonosscopy also showed some colitis. I asked dr. about help in eating as far as salads are concerned because I like them and ate a lot of salads. He said if I feel good to eat them, otherwise cook my veggies. So I now eat very few salads and cook my veggies. I do eat salads when we go out to eat. I also have high bp and cholestrol. I just got a new PC dr. so we have to get to know each other. Oh, I am on insulin - levemir at night and humalog 1:15 ratio. Besides that I am on many other meds.

I am happily married and we are both 61. We have 2, adult now, children, 1 girl/1boy but no grands. I guess that just about covers it. I hope to meet new friends here. I am also on another board.
