I have such a bad case of peripheral neuropathy in my feet, that I could no longer feel the pedals well enough to safely drive my car. This was really frustrating, because here I was one of the lucky epileptics whose medicine controls my condition so perfectly that I drive (now, side effects are a different story).
If any of you are in a similar boat, boy do I have the solution for you! I'm a car nut and drive a muscle car, so you can imagine how down I was about this. I researched hand controls fully on the Web. This is a very cleverly engineered system that allows for extremely precise and safe control of your car with your right hand while you operate the steering wheel with your left. You can see the system in a video at company's websites. One brand of controls are made in Italy and have been used in race cars, and I can't say enough about them. They are vastly superior to anything else on the market. Not cheap, but worth every penny. I drive just as well as before, and even better on twisty roads (you can brake and accelerate at the same time for full control). It's so easy to use that after 20 minutes of practice in a parking lot, I drove home very safely in rush hour traffic on the freeway.
Reason for edit:
I have had to edit the brand names and company names out of your post since we are not allowed to advertise here on HW. I dont think the post has lost any impact but now reads that there is a brand you prefer but does not state which. Darren
