 Hello,
I have had Epilepsy for over 30 years and I have just started having some very odd episodes at night. At the time I thought they were just a different kind of seizure or I was having my Grand Mal seizures at night instead of during the day. I have complex partial seizures and Grand Mal seizures. I can feel myself going in them and it is like I have to fight my way out of them. It is kind of like being in a dream and I usually end up waking up in the morning with sore spots like the one on my right wrist or just being generally sore. I haven't seen my neuroligist yet but when I do I am going to ask her what she thinks, I don't know if it is possible to have Epilepsy and Narcolepsy. I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems like this. Oh and I also have a Vagus Nerve Stimulator.
 Thanks

MISTYGIRL,

This is the same post from above titled "simple partial seizures" but I feel that it applies here too.

Sounds to me like your brain could be lacking oxygen while you sleep, could be for various number of reasons.

IMO ~ I would try to get a referral to see a sleep specialist. They can do an EEG on you while you sleep. From this, they can see if you're getting enough oxygen while you're sleeping and/or if you're having seizures in your sleep that you don't know about causing you to feel tired, no energy, soar throat, sore chest muscles, You could have a form of sleep apnea, easily cured, which is causing your problems.

Maybe worth checking in to.

Well I finally got around to going to a sleep clinic and having a sleep study. I couldn't go before because some family problems got in the way but I finally did get it done and got the results and it appears that I have a form of sleep apnea not narcolepsy, so I have to go back for another test with a mask.
