Hello it is me.
So I had an interview for a part time office job today.  It is up the road from my house about 2 miles.  The hours are perfect 10-2.  They offered me the job on the spot and I took it.  I start tomorrow.  So I am very nervous.  Anything new scares me a little.  But the interview went really well and they seem like nice people.  One thing is bad is that I know I will be leaving soon for school in late Feb.  I did not tell them about my E, they did not ask.  Thought I would let you know.  I am excited to be  making some more money now.  NOW if I could only lose that Kep weight! smurf

Sounds great!! YOu are not required to tell them before hiring of any medical condition and they are not allowed to ask!

Hope it goes well for you!

Thanks you guys. Today went great. I really like it there and the people are so nice. It is very casual. Infact, I can wear jeans. It is a small office. The girl I am working with is great. She is a rip. They listen to music and they love me cause I help out so much. This was what I needed. The hours are perfect. If only it were warmer out, I could walk there. Thank you guys, I knew you would be excited

My plan is to tell them in mid Feb that the school called me cause I was on a waiting list. I will tell them I applied in october and class was full, and now there is an opening. I feel really bad but I needed this job so much... any advice on that?

Glad it went well! Are you having to leave in Mid February? If so, it might be better to tell them 2 weeks ahead so they can fill the job! Sorry you cannot stay there longer, but glad you will have school!

Good job!

tongue  Things are really great there Mary, thank you so much for asking.  Tomorrow we have off.  Today they had a little xmas party and we gave gifts and I even got a little xmas bonus.  It was very kind of them I have only been there one week and two days.  So far so good, it is a nice working enviornment and most of all stress free.  Happy holidays to you and I hope you are doing well. It is a very good place for me to be. I am unhappy about knowing I have to leave to go to school. School is most important to me right now. I can't count on this company and my true love is to be in the medical field. I hope that you are feeling well today and thanks so much for asking. The people I work with are great. I couldn't believe I got a bonus, but they must really like me. Tracy

Tracy I think it is great you take school so serious. What part of the medical field do you plan to study in? When I was able to work I did Direct Care for the elderly. I really miss that. Before I started having seizures I worked for are Community Hospice as a Home Health Aide. I loved doing that. All though it could be very sad doing that kind of work .I did meet some wonderful people.I also worked as a Home Health Aide for those who were not terminally ill.I really do miss the elderly people that I would help care for.You can really learn a lot from them. Good Luck with your job and going back to school. Please keep me updated as to how things are going and you are doing// Mary

Hey Mary! :)
I find myself in a pickle. I love this new job. I think they are going to want me full time. I have never been so happy in a working enviornment. All around it is a great company. I am wondering if school during the day right now is the best for me. Maybe if they offer me full time I should take it. I am very confused at this point. My love is for the medical field. I was supposed to be in school this year for LPN. But I had the grand mal right before school started and began keppra and was told I could not drive for 6 months. I just wonder where I belong in this world. Should I now stay in this "safe" stress free enviornment, or should I push myself forward, into a situation where I may not be so pleased. I am just confused. I don't know if it will be healthy for me to be on my feet 8 hours a day running around and helping sick people all of the time. It may trigger seizures for me and I don't want that. I am so confulsed, sorry to be venting this here. Tracy

Tracy,Only you can make that choice. I had an aunt that once told me what ever you decide to do in life make sure you can live with it. I'm sure you will make the right choice. Please keep me posted on what you decide to do. Mary

I am not sure if I told you guys or not but one of the girls I work with said that she has petite mal seizures and she doesn't take meds anymore. It is really strange cause there are only 4 girls work there including me and two of us have E? Pretty weird huh? SO I feel much more comfortable now working there knowing people know I have E and not to flip out if I have a TC at work. Hope I never do. Todays thought is that I still want to go to school. I plan to tell them in a week or so about school. It is the best thing for me. Thanks everyone for asking...:) Tracy
