Hi Everyone,
I am a 49 year old female who out of the blue has had two seizures. One on Feb 14th, one on Feb 23. After 3 days in hospital after the second one, placed on Dilantin, now 500 mg per day, and have had no further seizures. I am having a difficult time accepting that something else did not trigger this, although as yet they have found nothing - apparently typical. Neuro says more than one seizure is the definition of Epilepsy? I would appreciate your feedback. I am having what I guess are all the normal anxieties of a newbie with this disorder. Thanks

While it is true that more than one seizure is the definition of epilepsy, it might also depend on what your tests showed. What was your EEG like, how about MRI?

If you have doubts you can always seek a second opinion to make sure. Hope you can feel more secure in knowing what is going on. Any diagnosis that is chronic is so hard to grasp.

It is worth being sure.
