my  brother is a 43 year old with a learning disablity who had had seizures for more than 30 years till about  8 years ago , we took him to duke university medical hospital in north carolina nad they did two procedures the first called brain mapping which is where they open the skull and apply electrodes to the brain then we he had a seizure they pinpoint where the seizure was coming from then when the sute was found they perform brain surgery they removed the section where the seizure originated from then split the lobes of brain down the middle .he has been seizure free for 8 years.we never thought he would ever be better but it was a miracle .i  would highly recommend dukes neurology department for anyone .sometimes it hard to a light at the end of the tunnel but somtimes there is. thank you gingerann

Thank you for your posting...

I will be flying to Boston in 5 days with my family in order to have a left temporal lobectomy for my epilepsy.   My surgery is 12 days away and I am counting the days.   I have had seizures now for 24 years and ...there is no turning back for me- the time is now.  I want to be free of seizures and this is my chance.

I do see the light at the end of the tunnel and I  am going to go for it :-)
