Alot of things can cause bad breath and it just may be a combo of things. It is probably the meds causing problems. Hang in there it is annoying but try chewing some sugar free gum or something like that Take care!

Something natural that treats bad breath and coated tongue is enzymes, for example papaya enzymes, which can be found in natural food stores. What you are experiencing could be a side effect of meds and/or thrush.

Sounds like thrush to me. No, it's not just in babies. It is caused by yeast. Alot of docs call the white tongue a 'geographic tongue" as when it's really bad it will not be an "even" layer but look...well, like a map but in white.

To get rid of it you first need to cut out ALL sugar from your diet as yeast comes from sugar. This includes even sugar from fruits initially(as in a month or so). Read the book "The Yeast Connection" and you'll get alot of answers there. Start swishing white vinegar in your mouth too. Be sure it's the white vinegar. This will counteract the yeast. You may even need to take some Nystatin (the kind kept in the fridge that YOU mix with water as it has no sugar and the other does) and/or also some Diflucan to get rid of it. Yeast will cause all sorts of problems for you and you really want to get rid of it. Some medications can contribute to it but even so you just need to get rid of it. Is your brain feeling fuzzy and fogged? The yeast alone can and WILL cause this. many MANY other symptoms as well. I've seen more kids than I can tell you diagnosed with ADD or ADHD too who after I have them stick their tongue out and see it's solid white or even "geographic" have informed the parents of the yeast and in not too long after doing the above they're fine and no more symptoms whatsoever of the ADD or ADHD. Let me see if I can find a website to help.....'s one but just do a google search and you'll find plenty more.

good luck...cindy

Yeah i have noticed I terrible odor from my mouth and have concluded that it is indeed THRUSH. I really don't have any spots on my tongue but did have a couple little dead skin white spots on teh insides of my cheeks about a month ago...when I picked at the with my teeth they bled. It has been about two months now where I have noticed an distinct change in my breath adn it is getting progressively worse along with this gross taste in my mouth like I have been sucking on a prednisone pill or any other non coated pill. It is really becoming bothersome and is effecting the way I interact at work and socially. What did your thrushes taste like in your mouth? did anyone have it in their throat and not som uch as the spotty tongues? I got an appointment with my Gastro guy but they will not just prescribe it for me over the phone. So now i have to go in and theysaid that if they dont see symptoms on the tongue or in the back of my throat they might not prescribe anything and will want to do a edoscope or colonoscopy again. urgh! I do have that food stuck in my chest sensation everytime I swallow food too. I read that that is a symptom also. Can any of you help. I just want my breath to be normal again! :( Isn't there a drink that cures the mouth and also goes through the colon to cover both ends if it is in the colon and mouth? Someone please help. I have felt like I cannot gather my thoughts or keep my attention span very long since maybe the last few months...
My meds:
Pentasa 500mg
6MP 50mg tabs 3/day
Vitamin C, B

Keep a food diary along with a list of all prescription and over-the-counter medications, as well as vitamin or herbal supplements you take. This is especially helpful if your bad breath remains after stepping up your oral hygiene. Have a dental professional review these medications during your next oral exam. Some dental professionals specialize in bad breath, and the ADA maintains a list of each state's dental association as a resource for locating such specialists. White spots on tongue
