Hi everyone,

My name is Laurie, and I usually post in the Chronic Pain board... but Jennifer so thoughtfully answered a post of mine the other day (and won the prize of 50 points, not to mention being entered into a sweepstakes too! LOL!!) - and she also invited me to post in her boards anytime I wanted..  since I was being funny that day with her, as well as the others, I thought I'd carry over this post from the CP board as well:

I once worked with a Major while in the AF... we were out having a smoke break one day and she asked me "If you knew you could come back in a second life as an animal what would it be, and why..."   I thought about it for a minute or so, and finally came up with my answer.

I told her "I'd come back as a bird".  She thought this was interesting... she mentioned whether it would be an eagle, condor, owl, or some type of large majestic bird and being able to float and soar around in the sky...  I replied, "I really don't care what kind of bird - a pigeon would be fine with me..."  She looked at me curiously and asked me why I would pick a bird - especially a pigeon, so I told her "That way, I could fly around and sh** on everyone that pissed me off when I was a human!"   Well, she just about choked when I said this, and we both got a pretty good laugh about it...

So, what do you guys think?  If you could come back as an animal, what would it be and why?  It doesn't need to be funny - I just think it would be interesting to see what everyone says.  I'm hoping it'll maybe take our minds off our worries, pains & problems for a bit as we think about it - it's not really a question people get asked that often.

Lets see what everyone has to say!!  What would you want to be Jennifer, and why??

I have a beautiful 7 year old daughter, married for just over a year
and have 3 freaky Chihuahuas, Thelma, Louise & Milo.

I'm a Disabled Veteran, served in the Air Force until medically retired. I spend my days fighting for my rights through the VA.  I used to be an artist... until the pain got to where it's difficult to sit and draw for any length of time.  I've sold many of my drawings on Ebay, and stick primarly to wildlife drawings. My work is listed on several galleries on the internet, and I'd like to add to them! Here's a link to personal pics and some of my artwork.
(I can't get some of the pics uploaded... but I'm working on it).

I try to make it through each day the best I can, and I pray A LOT.

Oh Jennifer,

You are too funny... geez, I'd be posting non-stop just to hit that "veteran" status!!  I'll get there, and by the way, I don't think my long posts will make it go backwards!! LOL.  You're just trying to get me going I see....  you better be careful with that.. I can be quite a smart alec when the need arises!!

I know what I posted isn't really "that funny", but I thought it would be something nice for a change.  Everyone, myself included, has so much going on with our illnesses, problems, pain, you name it - I was hoping to lighten things up a bit, just for fun.

I hope I get some replies on it - I really think it would be interesting to see what people say.  Sometimes you can tell a lot about a person with questions like these... can you tell about me with the reply I had when I was asked?? LOL!!

Believe it or not, I've asked myself that question many times (since I adore critters; hence my name), and I always come up with the same answer.  I would also like to be a bird but for different reasons.

I think it would be great to be so carefree and soaring above the "little people."   Would be nice to look down on somebody else for a change.  I could fly into the back yards of movie stars' homes and see how the rich people really live!  I could fly onto the grounds of the White house in Washington D.C. and figure out what they're REALLY doing with our money.  I could fly to other countries and not have to mess with a passport or visa.  And best yet, all that traveling and no high gas prices!

WooHoo!  tongue yeah

Ooooh Jennifer....

You're being quite the smart alec!!  Now it's 4 more posts to go... after this it will be only 3... I should have this "regular" issue taken care of by the end of the day. yeah

As for my question - I didn't mean to imply that there IS an afterlife, reincarnation...what ever you want to call it...  I only meant is as a generalized question - I hope no one took it as anything but.  The Major that asked me this question also asked me if I believed in reincarnation, and I told her - "I've never thought about it", since that was well over 10 yrs ago, I still haven't thought about it! That wasn't the point of this post.  I hope that's not why you decided to "be gone for good" and not answer...

I just wanted to make sure no one thought I was pushing the idea of reincarnation... some people believe- others don't... it doesn't matter.  Just thought I'd ask a silly question..  I do like the replies I've gotten though - it gave people a chance to think about something mundane and stupid for a bit.

Have good day Jennifer, and everyone else here...

YOU HAD BETTER BE JOKING WITH THAT 300 THING!!!!!

I just made my 250th post on the CP board!!  Are you messing with me again??  I can't figure you out Jennifer...!!  tongue

I am sorry to hear about the last couple of days.  I feel for you about whatever happened, and I'm here for you (or via email as you said) whenever you want to talk about it.  If you need to laugh again, go on to the CP board about the "what would you want to be if..." post.  It's the same one I posted here, but I just replied about what happened to me the other day as I was walking to the school...  It may not sound funny to anyone - I don't know... but I thought it was humorous.. then again, I do have a strange sense of humor..

Well, I suppose after I post this - I'll find out if you're messing with me, as I should be switched over to "veteran member" considering this will be 251...

I'll be looking for your email - when you want to send it only... take care, okay?
