I just wanted to stop in and say hello, a friend recommended I join here, so I thought I would. I would like to kind of sit back and observe before I really start to post if thats ok?, I've gotten hurt badly on other boards, and I don't want to get hurt again.

I have epilepsy, that was passed on to my child.

Thanks.

Shatteredlife and heart.

HI.  Sit back as long as you like and post when you're ready.  Tell as much or as little as you want about yourself.  I'm sorry to hear it's been so hard for you.  I had many years of depression that I've finally overcome so I know what hard means.  (not saying depression is  what you're referring to, just wanted to say I care and will do my best to understand anything you want to say).

Hi Shattered-

Welcome to HW.  I've been posting here for many months, other than the time I was healing from my brain surgery this summer, and I feel that the members here are really super supportive.  My family is great, but I come here to interact with others that can relate to me and have been thru similar problems.

Feel free to comment or vent anytime.  I consider the members here to be my online friends - and that's important when things don't seem to be going well.  I think I've learned also that it's just as important for me to be supportive to someone else.

I drop in frequently.  Stop by anytime!  HUGS,  Glenda :-)

Wow that is great. What type of program are you going for? I have gotten to do a report about Epilepsy and the nervous system and online support groups. I love being ablet to do that and educate my classmates. Good luck with school Tracy

Associates Degree Nursing Generic, then BSN, hoping to go all the way for ARPN working Peds neuro but not sure with my E I can handle it. The Generic Route is hard enough, and though I've already started on the BSN I've lost one of the courses since I ended up out of control. :( My instructors are super. I will have to do a report with presentation next semester on a disease process... I am hoping to do it on Epilepsy and the effects on the pt and family. Perhaps Jen, can send me some info that could help me with this kind of report.

then with my Daughters EEG's/ MRI's I should have some great visuals

That is great. Good luck to you. It is a great feeling being in nursing school. It is so grueling and hard. When you have great grades what an accomplishment, but when you do it with E, it is so much more personal to you. I don't know. That is how I feel. I was lucky to do a pathophysiology report on E. I wasn't able to present but it was great. Keep me updated if you can with school. Take care Tracy
