sad    I am a 34 year old female.  I have been having blackouts for 2 years now, and nothing seems to help.  I have been in and out of hospitals, seen 2 nerolog. and been to councelors and Psy.  and on and off meds. and nothing I do seems to help... I am geting desperat for some answers and some help.
My head start to feel funny and I get a numb and or tingly feeling under my toung, and I start to feel bad,,then in a few minutes I am blacked out,, sometimes for 5 to 45 min.. and on a few occasions I have been out for a few hours.  I can hear whats going on around me, but cant move or talk, or open my eyes.  I dont know why I get like that.   but ounce I come out of it I cant walk or move around,,it's like I move really slow,, and then it will eventually wear off after a few hours,,, but feel bad for a day or two.
  confused
I hope there is someone out there that can help me,, or if there is someone out there that feels the way I do.  The Dr. dont know why it happens or what to stop it.    DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!!

Thank You

Hello, Jennifer
Thank you for replying to me.. I have had at least 10 in the EEG's last 2 years. 3 MRI's and a sleep study, and also a Video monitering EEG. But they dont seem to be seeing anything or catching it on any of the test.
I have been on Med. but Now I just take 1 antideppresion pill a day. I was on Tegretal, but it didn't help me.

Yes I live in the U.S. I am in Missouri. Are you from The States?

Thank you for responce again, I truely appreciate you for your time, in my time of need.

Thank You!

Hi,

Yes I seen an Epileptic Dr. in St.Louis, Mo. and he said after allthe testing he has done, and all the other test I had done, that it was Non-Epileptic EVENTS.....Not sure though what the difrence is between NES and NEE.

He also said it was probably stress related, but I dont think it is. They just want to send me to a Psych. But it doesnt help.. I get down alot and frustrated, and upset,,because I dont know whats wrong, and no one can seem to help,,,,I cant live my life like this....it is miserable.

Thank You

Have you ever been tested for narcolepsy? I was just watching about that on TLC the other night, and there's all different kinds. I actually have a friend who has all 6 types. BUt in some people, they totally are out for awhile. I would definetely check into that!

Hello,

I was told 2 years ago when this started that I had Narcolepcy with Cataplexy...
but then the Nerologist, said he didnt believe it was Narcolepcy.

Thank you for the reply.. I didnt know there was many different kinds of Narcol. but I will check into it. Thank you.
