lately i have been feeling alone because everyone around me doesnt have them and they say they understand but they dont. i just would like to talk to people who do understand.

That's why we're all here. Going through something alone makes it so much worse, b/c not only does no one else understand, but you don't really understand. Just b/c someone hasn't gone through it, doesn't mean they don't care about you like crazy, though. We need friends in both worlds. None of my friends have seizures, but quite a few of them know someone else who does, and even that helps. I don't like to complain about it too much, so I come here and poor out. It helps, b/c you aren't judged, and everyone's been there in some capacity or another. And there are quite a few people your age who come to this site. One thing you'll read a lot on this site is that seizures may be a part of our lives, but they don't define us. You are definately not alone.

Thank you for the reply.
i know just because someone doesnt have it doesnt mean they dont care about me. all of my friends watch out for me like crazy and i love them dearly for that. but even though that happens i still sometimes feel left out. and my dad... always right when i meet someone he is like "did you tell them?"
i kno i have to tell people about my seizures but i dont want to just spring it on them in shock when i dont even remeber there name. do you get what i mean?

also... i just did a movie that is going to play in schools and around the state and the U.S. (by the epilepsy foundation) to show that kids with epilepsy can do just as much as people who dont have them and it is something we have and like you said... it doesnt define us.

i know how you feel. There are alot of people that don't understand. I had alot people that I never told about my epilepsy in my early years. Know I don't care if they know, so I am not afraid anymore to tell others about it. You have peope who care about you. We are one of those that care, so feel free to talk with us any time you need someone.

Had My Brain surgery, and I was so scared, but the doctors made me feel good and and I did. They kidded with me before the surgery and before I knew it I was in recovery Thanks for helping me. Mine is on the  left temporal lobe. They say it is deep it my brain.

i have em too. lol ppl arround me just don't get it. often they call em panic attacks or my little anxiety issues! lmao erm...sure, whatever floats your boat! i've tried to explain that's NOT what's going on, and i can't just 'suck it up' or push through it. they mean well, but darn it's annoying! either that, or like my parents, are insanely over concerned about everything, i's an imediate, ARE YOU OKAY?! lol there doesn't seem to be a middle.
i've given up on trying to make em understand what's ACTUALLY happening.

HI, My son is in 2nd grade and he is not doing well in school. I just added a topic on this, but wanted to talk to you because he had petit mal seizures also. How are you doing in school? Was there a time when you just could not concentrate at school? I sometimes feel like the teachers think Bradley is not smart. He is smart, he just doesnt seem like he is "there" all of the time. Any suggestions. I want to try to give the teachers some input on Bradley.
Thank you.
