Hi. Former braintalker here. I have TLE.
The meds I take are: Dexedrine (2 types), Carbatrol, acetazolamide, straterra, and zhi bai di huang wan (a traditional chinese medicine).
If you can't handle reading about
gynecological issues, please hit Back on your browser now.
I am 30 Years old. Have been on meds for TLE since I was 14.
I have "damp heat" in my lower region (this is related to discharge that isn't a yeast infection, but it is noxious and doesn't taste good).
I didn't always have this problem.
I'm trying to figure out if one of my meds is making me like this.
The one most recently added (2+ years ago) is straterra. Prior to that, acetazolamide.
I was on zoloft for a while, but I haven't taken it for at least 6 months, and the problem hasn't gone away.
I DON'T EXPECT ANYONE TO ANSWER THESE questions ON THE BOARD. PLEASE, IF YOU WOULD BE SO KIND, IF YOU HAVE ANY INSIGHT TO OFFER, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Question 1: Does anyone else have the condition I described above? (if this is a matter of carbatrol vs. carbamezapine, I'll try to get back on the 'mezpine ASAP!!)
Question 2: Does anyone have any slight incontinence issues, particularly at night? I don't mean totally wetting the bed. I mean like, whoops, and you pee a little, or you can't hold it in, or you don't, and the idea that you couldn't/wouldn't hadn't occurred to you?
My mom has TLE, and she is almost 55, and I know she deals with a certain level of incontinence, and has altered her lifestyle to always be near a bathroom and has learned to work around it.
Incontinence horrifies me (me having it). I know, I could be having grand mals, or be blind or deaf, etc., but I am already dealing with being someone who showers at least once daily who doesn't taste or smell "normal" anymore, down there, though the chinese medicine has helped some, I think I need something different that will work better on it. The thought of incontinence, even a little bit, on top of that, is horrifying.
Am I the only person with these problems? How do you deal with them, if you have them?
I don't care what your name is, and I don't read these forums often. I don't ever expect to meet anyone from here in person. Right now I am so grateful to have people I can right to about
this. I'm hoping anyone knows what I'm talking about
and how to solve these problems.
I will start doing kegels more often. Thank you for listening.
