Hey everybody.  It's time to check in and see who is around and how ya'll are doing.

So, stop in and tell us the what your diagnosis is (TLE, complete Partial, etc), and let us know what you're up to and how you're doing.

I have a DX of Intractible Frontal Lobe Epilepsy.  I was Dx'd with abscence seizures at age 5.  I went seizure free..med free from age 12-22.  Then my Epilepsy and seizure type changed (probably due to many many concussions.)  Right now, I am unable to work/drive.  But, still enjoy my family.  I am also in the process of getting a seizure alert dog.

ok, your turn!  :)

My name is Darren, and I was first diagnosed with epilepsy age 15/16 following a seizure about 10-20 minutes after waking. (Kinna irritating coz it left a scar on my right foot where I spilt HOT black coffee on it. Was first put on Tegrotol 100mg bd and was increased to 300mg bd after about 6 months. Following a spell of about a year free from seizures, they started again and my meds were changed to Tegrotol Retard (Quite an apt name I thought!) 600mg bd. I have only had a few seizures since although the last one was in June 2006 and led to a car accident which in turn, led to the surrender of my driving licence. Since then I have been seizure free and am hoping to regain my licence next summer. My epilepsy is generally stress related as I seem to have more seizures during exam periods (at college and university) and such as when I am moving house.

I think thats enough information for people to be going on with! Id hate to bore anyone! LOL Im always here for people who want to talk, so if anyone wishes to email me privately be my guest or start a new thread so we can all help.

Love and best wishes to all

Hey maggie28 here, last year I had brain surgery for the removal of a benign tumour which had been causing grand mal & absence seizures which were no longer controlled by medication (TLE, on the left side). Since then I have started driving again, & have enrolled in 2 adult education classes ( so I know my way around computers a little better!! I couldn't have asked for a better result from my surgery, & I am now on only Tegretol ( 2 tablets/day) whereas before I was on Dilantin x 360mg/day, Epilim 2000mg/day, Tegretol 800mg/day!!!! maggie28

Congrats to both of you. Darren, I hope you are able to keep your stress level down and can regain your DL. Maggie, I'm so happy that your surgery was such a success. Good luck in school. I hope that your seizure control contiues. Thank you for replying to this thread. Both of you please keep us up to speed on how you are doing.
