I am new this is my second post. I got the offical diagnoses of Fibro last week from the Rhum. doc. Then I got a phone call today telling me that my vitamin D levels were very low. I looked this up on the internet and the symptoms are the same as Fibro. Does anyone else this problem? I am in the sun every day for at least 3 hours swimming at the pool, to get my pain releif??/ Plus I drink alot of milk and eat loads of ice cream.

My Vitamin D is really low also. I am unsure what causes this. I stay in the sun as much as possible, so I was really surprised when my doctor said my Vitamin D was low. I am currently doing some research to find out what might cause a Vitamin D deficiency. I will let you know if I find something. We have a heated pool and hot tub in our backyard so I could get some exercise and sit in the hot tub for my pain, and I lay out in the sun every chance I get because the heat can relieve the pain.

I was very low on Vitamin D also. Started taking 3000 iu each day and there was a remarkable change in the way that I felt. I now take 1000 iu each day. It has to be D 3 as in Cholicalciferol (sp). And it does make you feel better. Your all over well being is even better plus energy and helps some with the pain. I notice that I think clearer when I take it.

Hope that this helps.
best wishes, Karen

There have been links between vitamin D deficiency and fibro symptoms written in past posts.. just can't remember how to find them. I've been on D3 as ordered by my doc along with calcium for about 2 years and most of my fibro symptoms are pretty much in remission.

I take 1,000 iu of vitamin D.  But, I don't know if it is D3.  What is D3 and where do you get it?
