Does anyone have Myofasical Pain?
Does anyone know what causes it?
I had it and it was just TERRIBLE. I
was cured of it by a very unusual
method.

Pamela, they do not know what causes fibromyalgia.  As fas as which is worse, it depends on the person and the extent of the illness.  To me, it doesn't matter which is worse.  Pain is pain.

I don't think you really had myofacial pain syndrome.  It is a chronic condition...just like fibro.  Many with fibro have both.  I know I do.  I get terrible knots in my muscles.  I see a massage therapist that does light massage and it helps loosen the knots.  Here is a link about it from the Mayo Clinic.

I hope this has answered your questions.

Pamela I have suffered from osteoarthritis since I was in my early 40's.  I had both knees replaced last year and my fingers and toes are so crooked they are pathetic.  I was just dxd. with Fibro last month and I am having a hard time distinguishing which one is causing the most pain.  I don't know how I could actually tell, because both have the same symptoms except one is in the joints and one is in the muscles.  I know I'm so stiff and sore when I get up of the morning and when I ride or sit very long I can't hardly move.  I don't wish either one on my worst enemy.

God Bless!

I had one of those tests where the doc sticks electric needles
into your arm. It was kind of like Acupuncture but a million
times worse. He hit one nerve. One bump ... and the myofasical
all over pain got better immediately.
I dunno.

I'm not sure what happened but I'm very happy for you!  I know they give tender point injections for myofacial.  Maybe that's what happened.  I hope it stays away for you.

I must say that there are days when the osteoarthitis hurts more than the fibro, especially in my right hand. But I also think fibro flares can make the arthritis hurt more.

I have MPS and I have had the nerve conduction test by neuro but I guess he didn't hit the right place cause mine sure didn't go away.

I am a knotty mess.

luv and hugs

OK ... I found an OTC that helped me today ... Just today.
I've used so much Ben Gay and Tiger Baum over my six years of pain that i cannot use them anymore. My skin gets all red and hot. At its worse, three showers a day were not unusual for me. I stopped and I massage me with Jergens or Lavender... I had this ancient bottle of liniment in my cupboard. Why not give it a try, eh? Hubby rubbed in on my back, arms, and Derriere where it hurts the most.
I took a restful dreaming nap after that. I think I dreamed that God had fixed me or some miracle thang had overcome me.
I woke up and MY PAIN WAS GONE. I think it was just a once in a life time thing, but I sure did enjoy those four pain free hours.
The name:
J.R. Watkins, Liniment Apothecary It's all natural and contains Capsicum and Spruce oil. btw, I spelled Capsicum correctly. Weird. Huh?

I hope no one thinks I've taken to Ad writing. I doubt it ... but ya never know.

Pamela Neckpain.

I put the stuff on my upper chest and it turned CHERRY red. Talk to your pharmacist first, I think.

Pamela, I've tried Capsaicin it's like putting fire on my skin but others love it. I relish those times also when I feel no pain for a little while. They are few and far between but so noticeable when your use to pain 24/7. I had one yesterday but then nothing was touching any TRPs. tongue Didn't last long this morning feels like shoulder blades are being pulled apart again. Oh well that is fibro.
