A Gift from your Moderators

Hello and welcome to our Fibro Family. The moderators of the fibro forum have gotten together to offer you a gift. We would like to send you a Fibromyalgia awareness ribbon. This is not offered by Healing Well, but is from your moderators personally. The people who join this forum do feel like a true family and in that honor we offer you a small token to share that Family Feeling.

The ribbons are deep purple which is the ‘Fibro’ color. Written in silver is : My Fibro Family Cares. All you need to do is email Chutz and supply a mailing address. Your ribbon will be sent to you free of charge. No gimmicks, no strings attached, we’re not going to keep your address once your ribbon is sent. We are limiting the number since these are meant for the forum members. Let us know if you would like a second ribbon.

Here is a link to a picture of the ribbons. http://gallery.heyhubby.us/main.php?g2_itemId=2316

To obtain your ribbon email your address to: ribbon@chutz.org
or click on the small envelope under my name to the left.

Enjoy and gentle Fibro Hugs!
Chutz

I think that this is so cool because it kind of connects us all together. So not only on the forum, but in a physical way with the ribbons.

And I must mention that Chutzie should get the credit here, it was her idea. And what a wonderful idea it was.

How sweet! I believe the deep purple also recognizes those of us with Crohns too. Albeit, I think the Crohn's ribbons should be a cocoa color myself...I know, gross right! Anyhow I'll wear mine with Fibro family with never ending endurance!

I think you're correct too about the purple color. Many groups share purple. But we ARE special! ;-)

Chutzie,

I just wanted you to know that I got my ribbon on Saturday-so thank you very much.  I didn't know where to put it-so I pinned it to a very large teddy bear that someone gave me a few years ago.  The bear has a "medal" around his neck that says "hope," so I call him my "Hope Bear."  Anyway, I thought it was the perfect place for the ribbon.  HOPE has been my word for a long time, and it has really come into play over the past year. :-)

So, thanks for reminding me how much my fibro family cares.  Sometimes, when you feel like your real family doesn't care, it's heartwarming to know that there is someone out there who does. eyes

FINALLY dxd on 06/13/08
Vicodin, Neurontin, Ibuprofen for pain-which doesn't help, BTW
Zoloft & methadone (NOT for pain) for sanity-which doesn't help, BTW
Klonopin for anxiety (Guess what?  Doesn't help!)

I received mine on Saturday.  I had a little stick-on magnet and slipped it through the space in the safety pin and have it on my refrigerator.  It looks great and it's a wonderful reminder of my fibro family.  Thanks, Chutz, for the great idea.

Chutz

When I click on your envelope nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? Also, I was told by my primary care doc that I had fibro but I see specialist this month, in couple weeks, so I don't have offical dx. Should I wait and see first?

Thanks

poco

Hi Poco,

Let me see if I can help. Go back up to my post. Under my name, Chutz, is Forum Moderator. Under that is a row of little pictures. The one on the left is an envelope that is lit up/colored. Click that one and it will open an email for you.

And it doesn't matter if you have a dx or not. If you believe in our cause then enjoy a ribbon and pass the word. Try emailing me again and I'll get yours in the mail.

Chutz

Glad to know these are getting to you all. ;-)

I just got my ribbon today and am going to use Sherrine's idea about the magnet and putting it on the frig- all of you are becoming so special to me. I notice I'm thinking, praying and talking about my fibro family!

Some people that are just finding out I have fibro, they will ask if I go to counseling or if I go to a support group and I tell them I have a very special group I belong to on the internet. I've even told my family about how we can just HOOT about things- especially about the chickens!

Thanks again moderators- GamJill

I just wanted to thank you all again. I took mine to work and hung it on my desk right at eye level. I had to leave work early today because I am feeling so sick, but while I was there, I kept looking at that ribbon and thinking "you are not alone, others out there understand what this is like, you are not alone." thank you all for your support. I am glad to have a visual reminder at work, because I can't just hop in and visit you guys whenever I want while I am working. aw, now I am getting all misty.

Wow, Chutz, that's a lovely idea. Thanks so much. I won't apply because I live a long way away and it would cost you too much to send it to me, but the thought alone is heartwarming. It's a beautiful thought - thanks!
