Karen, I wanted to make sure you saw this.  Carolyn (Tapestryloom) posted in the thread "Anyone taking Zoloft" that you should not nurse and take Adderall.  I checked it out and she is absolutely correct.  I wanted to make sure you saw this.  Be sure to tell your daughter.  Here is a link about Adderall.

Carolyn, thanks!

Thanx Sherrine,

I did read the other post Carolyn left for me. They did have Barbs baby on amphedamines before Barb was taking anything. Her daughter was born extremely premanture and has always been on one kind of a stimulant or another. It had something to do with her heart rate dropping too much during sleep, braida cardia? something like that. I know that Kirsten is under the care of Childrens Hospital in Seattle and that they have always had a list of whatever meds Barb was on. I left a message for my daughter this morning to ask her about all of this. I am pretty sure she said it was Adderall she was taking but I know she would have run it through Kirstens doctors before taking anything that would effect her breastmilk. Barb has even had a very restricted diet the whole time she nursed Kirsten and her older daughter Danielle, who was also a micro preemie. Barb even has her milk analyzed to make sure there is enough fat and other nutrients and then they adjust her diet accordingly.

I know the whatever it is for sure she is on does make her jumpy though cause she has to take a smaller dose for evening or she cant sleep. But she would never take anything that would effect the baby in a bad way and she would have cleared taking anything with the babys doctor first so maybe they just stopped one of the meds the baby was on to make allowences for what Barb takes. Will get back to everyone after I talk to her. Thanx for the concern=)

This link says not to take Adderall when pregnant because it can cause premature births.  Was she on that when she was pregnant?

I'm glad to hear that she is being watch carefully but I know I would question the doctor about this.  They are human and can make mistakes.

I'm glad you saw the post.
