Hi Hurting, hang in there they can seem to last forever but they don't. Use lots of moist heat shower, bath, rice bag in the microwave, moist heating pad or hot tub if you have one. Make sure you move around and stretch as much as you feel like. Sherrine has some stretching exercises in her fibro 101 thread.

I use a TENS unit when it gets that bad, it interrupts the pain signals to the brain. I wouldn't part with mine. The only pain meds I'm on is 4000 mg tylenol a day and tramadol to help get through the rough times.

Try not to stress out over the pain or it will make it worse. Sometimes the more distracted we are the better. Crawl in a warm bath with a good book. smilewinkgrin

Get better.
luv and hugs
Marlee

K, I'm sorry you are having this miserable problem.  Flares vary in length.  I'm in one now and it has been going on two months.  I probably have another month or so to go.  I usually have them this time of year.  Where I live, I get a lot of rain and fronts going through in the summer so it's my worst time for fibro.  But, just hang tough.  It will get better!

Try using moist heat, rice bags, and gentle stretching exercises.  These can be found on the Fibro 101 thread.  Keep moving!  If you sit too much, you will get much stiffer.  Walk as much as possible.

I use ibuprofen (with food) and Tylenol to help with the pain.  I also take malic acid/magnesium supplelments and they have helped me a lot with pain and fatigue.  I bumped the thread about them this morning so check it out and see what you think.

I hope you feel better soon.

roll  I figure thats what you feel like going back and forward.  Every day is diff for me.  Usually if I get back its only for 3-4 days though I always panic and think that it wont go and then I look at the worse. But it does go, I just wake up with the normal pain all at once.  My symptoms are burning and stiffness in neck and shoulders from a nerve injury. swelling and pain in hands and feet , pain and swelling down the side of my face, muscle spasm in legs and hip pain.  Always there but at moment manageable but never know if its going to be good day or bad day. Not sure if four days is long enough for what is called flare.  It will go, or die down again. :-) :-) :-)    sue2z
