Friday night I started getting a rash on my upper thighs and then pink like a sunburn under my left breast. The Sat. morning the pink spread to under both breast and then it started becoming red on my behind and up my back. It looks and hurts just like a sunburn but I haven't been in the sun.

I have been under stress this past week before all this started. My grandson, the Droctors thought had something wrong with his heart but we found out he's fine, my mom had lung cancer last year and they had to remove a part of her left lung and now she has breast cancer, I also threw a party on Sat. night for a house warming for us. We had his family and co-workers over.

I have tried Benadryl for the itch and that hasn't helped a lot, and Cotisone cream for it and that hasn't done anything. Baby powder works some though to cool the burn. I have tried a different laundery det. But it's made from the same brand that I use it's supposed to be non alerginic. Also Sat. my Fibro was acting up really bad due to stress I had a hard time moving and getting around but the party went great.

I'm supposed to go to Dr today once I can get b/f motivated.

I'm not a doctor, Roni, but it sounds more like an allergic reaction to me.  I know, right before I came down with fibro, I had a flat rash that ran across my abdomen and was put on a prednisone dosepack for it.  I think the rash associated with lupus is a butterfly rash that runs across your nose and on your cheeks.

Oh man do I feel bad for you!  I got into poison ivy about a month ago and I was never allergic to it before, so I didn't think that was what I had. I went to the doc and he said that's what it was and gave me something for it. I didn't even touch the stuff, I was just working next to it. I was miserable, itching at night, etc. So I totally know how awful you must be feeling. I sure hope you start to feel better. Mine was 1/2 gone the next day, so I was lucky.

Best of Luck,

I took a bath last night and used a towel that I hadn't rewashed yet and it made my skin burn so I'm sure it was the wash detergent. Since last night I have been doing all the laundry and cleaning. I found out cortison shots make you wired at least it has me. I have barely slept since yesterday. I started the Melthpred this morning and waiting to see what goes on with that.

I'm still red but not as itchy.

Oh, I am so sorry this happened to you.

My son is allergic to Tide and a few other strong detergents. We used to rinse his clothing a second time in the washing machine to dilute the allergen.

Take care of yourself. The thought of that shot on the butt, ouch!

Roni,

I agree with the rest of the girls-this sounds like an allergic reaction.  Besides, why would your doc give you Medrol-a steroid that is commonly used for allergic reactions?  LOL-I guess that could be a stupid question.  I mean, there's no way that docs can be wrong! eyes

I am in lupus limbo, and for the past 2 weeks I've had petechiae (small pinpoint lesions) on my legs, ankles, and feet.  When I saw my GP on Tuesday, he said that it was probably some sort of rheumatologic rash.  So, I got more bloodwork (does anyone else ever feel like a pin cushion?) and I should get the results tomorrow from my rheumy (my GP and rheumy are in the same building).

Anyway, sorry to hijack your thread and talk about my problems.  I really do hope that what's going on with you is just an allergic reaction.  LOL-I know that sounds crazy, but I hope you know what I mean. wink   BTW-I don't think we've "met" before (and if we have, I'll just blame it on the fibro fog), so, it's good to meet you. :-)    Good luck!
FINALLY dxd on 06/13/08
Vicodin, Neurontin, Ibuprofen for pain-which doesn't help, BTW
Zoloft & methadone (NOT for pain) for sanity-which doesn't help, BTW
Klonopin for anxiety (Guess what?  Doesn't help!)
