Hello Friends,
I feel I must go back to work. I've already sent three applications. I haven't worked in over 20 years! DH medical bills won't wait and everything is falling apart, house and car and food to feed grand children. It would be nice to have insurance for myself and be able to go to the dentist etc.
My question to anyone who has knowledge is about xanax. All places of employment do drug testing now. I'm wondering if I will fail the test because of the 1/2 0.25 mg pill I take at night. This med has worked very well to help me sleep and also takes care of most of my muscle pain.
So what do I do? Try to go off of it or what?
      Thanks for your answers...Chuzzle

Chuzzle, you take so little of it I don't think it is going to be a problem. I'm sorry your being forced back into the work force. They are looking for drug abuse and your far from abusing it. Don't eat anything with poppy seeds in it before a drug test or it will show up as (I can't remember). shocked

Good luck in finding a job but I really wish you didn't have to.

luv and hugs

Chuzzle, I really can't imagine that being a problem.  Many people work while taking medication.  My husband worked while taking Prozac and two different blood pressure medications and five different medications for arthritis.  So, you should not have a problem at all.

I'm so sorry you have to do this.  Hopefully there is the perfect job awaiting you...something that doesn't cause problems with the fibro.  You will be in my prayers.

Thanks for the info... I have prayed to the One Who opens doors. I can't see another way. All I can do is put it in His hands and put one foot in front of the other. Can't even talk right now. There is so much going on. I'm going to take my daughter for a dye test today and then her surgery is tomorrow. Thanks for being there.

Chuzzle you know it's all in His hands. I will be leaving tomorrow for a few days but will have my computer with me so I will try to check in and see how the surgery goes.

My prayers are with your daughter tomorrow.

Chuzzle,

I'm sorry you have to go back to work in your condition. Times are tough these days. I wonder if everything will ever get back to how it was a year ago, but I doubt it.

Anyways, about your question. Xanax is a controlled substance, therefore it will show up in your system, no matter how little you take. What usually happens is the doctor performing the test will call you and ask you if you took that and then will want a prescription. Either the bottle with your name and info on it, or something from the doc stating that you take it. You don't have to go into details about why you take. They usually give you 3 days after that to get your information into their office. If after 3 days you fail to comply then you will have officially failed your drug test. They are looking for narcotics/controlled substance, not blood pressure or tylenol, or that sort of thing.

Hope that helped. Good Luck!

Chelle

Good luck to you with all that you have going on right now. I know this is tough, but we are all here, pulling for you. I believe that when we take an action that we feel that is necessary for our family's well being, God has helped us understand the need to act and will make sure that all we need to be successful. He will se you through this. I don't know who said this, and I am sure I am not getting it exactly right, but its something like this- 'whenever we get to the end of all we know, one of two things will happen: we will either be given more room to stand, or we will be taught to fly'. I will be thinking and praying for you, your daughter and your fami9ly. Let us know how she is after surgery.
Peace be with you!

Good News!!! My daughter’s surgery went perfectly. They removed the lump and one lymph node to make sure it had not spread. The lymph node was negative so the most she is looking at will be radiation. She didn’t even get sick with the anesthetic, which has always happened in the past. And she is home already…. Could it be any better than this??? ( I am going to put this on the other post that I talked about the surgery on so everyone who cares will know how well everything went)   Thanks so much for praying for us. Chuzzle and Family

Darlin I am so glad things are looking up...or more exactly doors are opening..Have you heard of Angel Food Ministries ? It is a low cost food program without any rules or any hoops to jump thru..I have been on it about a year now and bless their existence every day. They have a basic menu for $30.00 and usually 2-4 monthly specials for about $20.00. Just Google the name and go to their web site for more information and to find your closest host site. Hubby and I eat for right at 3 weeks cuz I split everything down and make leftover soup..yall have heard of dump cake..well its dump it in the pot and enjoy around here. It sure helps out with the cost of meds for the both of us and gas..and I work a full AND a part time job because he was disabled, now on Medicare and my health insurance, which is really bad. Check it out..it will help I promise.
Its NOT denial..Its selective reality!
