Gotta find a doc who will do it!
The Rheumie and the immunologist both said "no"
as it is "unproven"...
I may have to find a more adventurous NYC doc...

Here is the site about it

My 79 year old mother started taking 3 mg of LDN this spring. She usually resists taking any form of medication, but she has seen the benefits of LDN in my cousin who has MS and was willing to try it. She said that the there were benefits within the first week of taking it and wants me to get more for her. I buy naltrexone (Nodict in India) from an internet pharmacy and use it for my psoriatic arthritis (which is nearly gone after 6 months on LDN).

From what I have read, LDN increases the production of met-enkaphalins (also know as Opiod Growth Factor or OGF). Dr. Zagon at PennStat has done a great deal of research on naltrexone and met-enkaphalin. http://www.fred.psu.edu/ds/retrieve/fred/investigator/isz1

Penn State is also where phase one of the Crohn's LDN study took place (Dr Jill Smith).

Met-enkaphalin is a VEGF antagonist (vascular endothelial growth factor). VEGF has a pro-inflammatory function as well as influencing excessive angiogenesis.

LDN is cheap to buy and has nearly zero side-effects. It is easy to compound: take one 50 mg pill and mix it with 50 ml of water. Keep the mixture in the fridge and use a dropper with ml measurements. Take 3 to 4.5 mg each night.

Post your questions about LDN at: http://ldn.proboards3.com Brenda is amazing!
