Sherrine and other Floridan's

I only just heard that you are all bracing for tropical storm Fay. According to the weather up here, they are fearing it will turn into a hurricane.

Just want to say that I am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers for your safety.

God Bless
Diane

Thanks, Diane.  It's just a real pain in the neck for me.  I have all the hurricane supplies on hand but I have to get all the patio furniture inside.  I can seat 16 people on my lanai (patio)!  The furniture fills my living room and my bedroom.  Plus I have to take in the birdbath, my garden angels, the grill, etc.  I do have a generator to keep the refrigerator and my 20 cubic foot freezer going.  I'm glad about that.

I don't think this is going to be a big deal.  It may just stay a powerful tropical storm.  I am keeping a steady eye on things.  I just hope we don't lose power.  It gets mighty warm here without air conditioning!  shocked Thanks for your concern.

Sherrine,

I hope you have someone there to ride out the storm with. Would be a little intimidating to be all alone while it's storming.  What they are telling us up here, this is the storm just left the Dominican and that worst case scenerio..it will be a category 1.  I can just imagine how crowded you're going to be with all that "patio" stuff all around you...if Marlee were here she wud have something hilarious to say about that tongue

Keep us posted

Diane

My daughter is here with me.  The last hurricane that came through here was Hurricane Jeannie.  It had 110 MPH winds so it was a high catagory 2.  If it blew one more MPH, it would have been a catagory 3.  My daughter slept through it and I baked brownies and watched television.  I didn't even lose my satellite reception!  I thought the dish would blow off my roof but I was safe.  God was good.

I agree Sherrine, you and your daughter stay safe. I check on hurricanes, since I want to move to Florida. Also my son will be in Orlando starting Sept. 7 for six weeks of training for his new job. He would like to be in a hurricane. Nuts! Diane smilewinkgrin

We are keeping an eye on things here in Ocala, one hour outside of Orlando and Mickey Land. Don't think it will be too bad. My generator is not working, (smart huh) so I hope we don't lose power either. My daughter has a generator though, so we can hijack her air-conditioning maybe. Hahahahaha

God bless everyone who is in the path of that storm.

Thanks, guys!  Right now it is supposed to be heading through my area tomorrow as either a strong tropical storm or a weak Catagory 1 hurricane.  But, it keeps changing direction so who knows?  My daughter will help me get the furniture in when she gets home from work.  She better...if she wants to eat!  smilewinkgrin

Hi Sherrine & all other Floridians! I'm hoping and praying that y'all get as lucky as we did here with Edouard. It was nothing more that a nice, breezy rainstorm for us that did only minor damage with minor flooding. It never quite reached hurricane strength and lost what punch it had very quickly. So here's hoping that Fay behaves as well as Edouard did! wink   Let us know how you are doing if you can.

Gentlest of hugs,

John

Go find the 16 people who use your Lanai and make them bring the furniture in.

We are expecting Storms in Western WA. Of course they will be record breakers and are unseasonable. I hope Chutz is ok.

The storm hasn't become a hurricane and I don't think it will, either.  For days they have been telling us to brace for a Catagory 1 or 2 hurricane and our governor declared a state of emergency!   shakehead   It also changed direction some so it won't be close to me and I think Lindaloo is fine too.  But, I did take in furniture, garden statues, etc....before the storm headed away from me.  But, this will give me a good reason to hose off the lanai!  smilewinkgrin

Thanks, everyone!

Morning Girls

Yep...got up this morning, saw the weather news and found out that it remained a tropical storm :-)
I am so happy for all you florida peeps!  One resident was talked to on the news, and he figured it would definately be a hurricane because it has been a couple of years since hurricane Jeannie...and you all were due for a biggie....boy I am so glad he was wrong.

So, hose off the lanai and get that furniture back out there Sherrine...there is a holiday weekend coming and I think we are all due for another visit  turn

Hugs
