Hello all

I am 29 and just found out that I have fibro.  Apparently have had it for years, although everyone thought my pain was a joke for years.  Pain is from Hips to Skull.  Umm tried Celebrex, gained 20 pounds in on month, tried lyrica, but they gave me too much, and now i am waiting for a new prescription.

Hi Kalypso,

Welcome to HealingWell. You will find there is a wonderful group of members here who are very understanding, kind and compassionate.

It is hard dealing with fibro at such a young age. But it is managable. If you get a chance, check out some of the threads. There is one called fibro 101, it is the second thread on the first page. I think that you will find it to be so informative. You will read it and realize that you are definately not alone. We also have Who's who in the land of fibrofog. You can get to know a little about each member there. And do know that you aren't alone in this situation. We all share a lot in common.

I wish you happy reading, feel free to chime in on any post that you feel you would be interested in. And remember we are all here for eachother.

Luv and hugs, Karen...

Hi Kalypso and welcome to our family. Sorry you have fibro though. This is a great place to come for support and knowledge. Please read the fibro 101 thread, second on first page, there is a great deal of info in it.

Read all you can, ask questions and vent when you need to and we will be here for you.

Good luck with the lower lyrica rx.

Hi, Kalypso, and welcome to the forum!  I'm so glad you joined us.

I take ibuprofen (with food), Tylenol, and malic acid/magnesium supplements for pain and fatigue.  I just started the malic acid/magnesium last December and it has made a difference!  I'll bump up the thread all about it for you to read.

Be sure to ask question whenever you want.  We have a great group here that have some wonderful ideas to help you live a full and enjoyable life.  I hope to hear more from you soon!

Welcome to the fibro merry go round.  Eventually you will get right meds and you may find they periodically change.

Having a doctor who is onside is the biggest thing. As for family and friends some of them will  never accept or beleive. Everyone here is very supportive , I have only been member for several weeks and it seems so much longer to me. suez2 :-)

Hello and welcome. I'm very much a "newbie" too. In fact I'm still new enough that my corners haven't dulled down yet. :-)

On the serious side, I spent a couple of weeks lurking the boards here and saw how people interacted and was happy that I saw what I did. I'm not happy as to what brought you here, but I'm glad to meet you and hope you like it here as well as I do.
