OK, through all my fibro fog and stress, I feel horrible-because I totally forgot that yesterday was Grandparents Day.  Usually, I am so good at remembering birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, etc, but this one just slipped right by me. sad

So, I hope it's OK that I wish all of the "Grandmas, Grammas, Nanas, Meemaws, Mimis, Gigis wink , Grandpas, Papas, Peepaws," and all the other names that your grandkids call you, a very happy (and belated) Grandparents Day! :-)

I know that those of us that are lucky enough to still have our grandparents (I still have both Grandmothers) with us will agree that they are so special.  Grandparents are the ones who spoil us, and they can comfort us-even if they live thousands of miles away.  And, for those of us who have lost our grandparents, I know that our memories of them are in our hearts.  Although I never knew my father's father, I hear the fun stories about him.  And, I can still remember my mother's father because he always wore wingtips.  I used to always called them "Papa shoes."  After he died, my grandmother gave me a pair of Papa shoes-and I still have them in a very special place.  When I was home for Xmas, I got to visit his gravesite for the first ime in at least 10 years.  I didn't intend on getting so emotional, but I cried like a baby. cry    As I have gotten older (and sicker), I realize just how much my family means to me-and I need them.

Anyway, I didn't mean to go into all that, but you know me.... wink

So, Happy Grandparents Day!  You have no idea how much you mean to us! blush

That's not on my calendar. The only call I got was from my 9 yr old grandson inviting us to his school Wed for grandparet's day and I was wondering why. Now I know Kelly. idea   I asked my ex DIL why they were having grandparent day at his school and she said she didn't know.

So hopefully Grandpa can get away Wed afternoon so we can both go to his school.

luv and hugs

Marlee,

Grandparents Day is always on a Sunday in September and it was yesterday, September 7.  I'm not sure how long that it's been an "official" day, but I know it has been for at least the past 10 years.

Anyway, Happy Grandparents Day! :-)
