Good Morning Fibro Family,
I was just wondering if anyone else has got the flu yet this early in the year.  It took me down for a good 5 days.  Started last saturday with just aching all over more then usual and feeling kinda hot and flushed.  Then the next morning I woke up with a horrible stomach ache so ran to the bathroom and heaved til I thought an internal organ was coming up.  That went on alllllllll day and night and continued off and on for 4 days along with diarhea.  I couldnt eat had trouble drinking and couldnt take many of my medications.  I was without my Lyrica for 3 days and the old burning pain came back with a vengence.  I kept trying to keep my vicodin down long enough to get some into my system but more the a few times as soon as I swallowed it it came right back up so ya wasted meds there and so much pain to go along with being so sick.  Day before yesterday my daughter and grandkids came into town so I managed a bath and getting dressed to go meet the school bus with my daughter then went to my moms for about a half hour and then I was done for the day.  The kids were like arent you going shopping with mom?  and my daughter actually told them "gramma is very sick and your lucky she came to say hello" so after that I went home and crashed.
Yesterday was the first day I felt more like my old self.  I was able to take all my meds and didnt throw up once.  Still a lil nauseas but getting better so yesterday I did the whole shower and shave and even put on some makeup which in turn gave Jay the idea that oh boyyyyyyy now she can cook!!!  so I made him some taco's and ya the smell of the meat made me feel bad.  Still eating lil baby meals cause my tummy shrunk, so why stretch it back out?  I got a start on dumping some more weight by losing 10 pounds while I was sick so I am just keeping to a bland diet with small portions and no candy.  I did go back to my coffee though but even that kicked my butt yesterday as after 5 days with no coffee or caffine I got seriusly buzzed lol.  I hope everyone is feeling good and low pain today.  I wouldnt wish that flu on anyone and I have a feeling that wont be it for me.  The only saving grace was phenegren suppositories for nausea, without those I would have starved and been completely dehydrated so If you do get the flu have your doctor order some of those they work great.  I got mine last year during the flu and my doctor went ahead and approved them for everyday use as I have alot of neasea daily and severe motion sickness so I do use them alot.  If I hadnt of had them for my vacation there is no way I could have gone on a plane specialy one with turbulence yikes!!!
Everyone take care and feel good!

I haven't gotten the flu, but I am recovering from a nasty sinus infection. My husband has it now and my co-workers are dropping like flies with various types of ailments. I think its going to be a hard year, I will definetly be getting my flu shot in the next few weeks.

Gentle Hugs,

I wont get my flushot until next month. But was at the doctor's yesterday and so far so good. If I get sick with something like that I usually pick up the bug at the doctor's office or the grocery store.

Has anyone else gotten a flu shot yet?

Hugs, Karen

My son was in ER on Tuesday night, due to the stomach flu and severe dehydration.  He had a high temp of nealry 102.4 and severe vomiting for 8 hours.  He finally called me at 8:30 pm. after being sick for nearly 24 hours and I took him in.  The ER drs said it is starting to make a comeback with a vengenance.  They kept him til his fever broke and was able to hold down fluids.  He is much better and back at work :-)
