OK, since Karen (getting by) asked who in the family is in Michigan, I thought I'd ask which of us are in the south.  Feel free to post your state, but if you don't want to, a simple, "Hey y'all, I'm from over yonder, too" will suffice. smilewinkgrin

So, as everyone knows, I am desperately trying to return to SC.  I'm not there physically, but my heart is. :-)

Hi Kelly,

We are thinking about moving to North Carolina. This topic comes up everytime the winters get hard. It is just easier said than done. I have my late husband's relatives down there, they have been keeping an eye on the housing market for us. So maybe one day. I want to go there because they are famous for emeralds. I am a rock hound, but like the gemstones.LOL...

So I guess, I just wish I was from the south.

Hugs, Karen...

Karen (gb),

Wow!  I feel like we've "talked" a lot, today. :-)   LOL  Anyway, NC is a very beautiful state-especially the coast, and the Asheville area, where the Blueridge Mountains are.  Of course, SC is also a nice state-for the same reasons.  So, I say, go for it-make that move!  Oh, and while you're at it, do you mind dropping me off in SC? confused    I'm beginning to feel that's the only way I'll get there. sad

Sorry for being a downer, I'm just having a bad day. cry

Physically, as in your whole body is sagging Sherrine??? smhair Mentally, we know you've done gone off the deep end of the pier down there.  devil

I'm a southern belle wanta be. NC or SC sounds good to me Kelly. I have one DIL determined to go to Florida so that would work but sadly, my youngest son can't leave the state cause of his children. Unless he could talk his ex wife into moving to the same place. Then I would have to talk 18 year old granddaughter into leaving here cause I can't leave her here by herself. Nope, probably never going to happen unless I become a totally selfish person and put myself first. I've never done that before and can't see me doing it now.

luv and hugs

John, the one true gentleman, wink

I'm glad to hear that you are OK after Ike.  I have some family right outside of Houston (I believe it's called Cypress, TX) and a dear veterinarian friend that lives there, too.  Of course, one of my favorite shows, Reba, is set in Houston, too.  LOL-yeah, I know that was random, but it's a really funny show! tongue

Anyway, I'm happy that our only gentleman (and our only male, "one of the girls,") is safe. smilewinkgrin

Kelly, Reba is out on disc and I bought every season cause my DH didn't think he liked it when it was on. He will suffer through many hours of watching Reba now. devil

I love Texas but it is a bit warm in the summer.

Poco, I wish all my children lived in NC instead of just one. I would be quite happy living there. I'm being held hostage in Illinois.

John, with the rain we got from Ike I was waiting for you to float up this way.

Hey all!  I'm from a little place called Warrior Alabama.  It is central Alabama.  I have lived right here all of my life.  The only place I moved was from my parents home to mine in their backyard tongue

Well ya'll, I've just got to put my two cents worth in.  I live in  South Central Kentucky.  I think it's one of the most beautiful states in the south.  We live about a hour and a half from Lexington where the beautiful horse farms are.  about 10 miles to Mammoth Cave, and about 3 and a half hours to the Great Smokey Mountains in Gatlinburg Tennessee.  Any direction we travel we see God's beauty.

I know I'm one of the most blessed people in the whole wide world.

Ya'll come for a visit sometime!

Gamma, do you live in the moutain area somewhere near Hazard?

God Bless!
Shannon

I didn't know Mammoth Cave was that close down there where ya'll live Shannon. I'll have to try to remember that the next time we are down there to see ya'll.

I'm considering a move to North Carolina, I have family there and my youngest is considering a college there. I am originally from the Northeast and left because I couldn't tolerate the humidity. The weather changes would incapacitate me.

How is it in central NC? My sister doesn't have fibro so she doesn't understand how important this question is. I function well here in the Southwest and am so afraid to move to a place with weather. At least I have a few years to think about it.

Hey ya all. I'm from Ocala, Florida -- the center of the state. One hour from Mickey Land and I love it. Been a little cooler these past few days. Oh you don't have to wear a sweater or anything. Just not the sweltering heat as usual. Hahahahahahaha!!

Cheers,
