Well, we rode Ike out! It was a cat. 2 storm with 80 mile wide eye. You could hear the storm coming in between 1:30 to 3:30 a.m. as I was praying none of the loud crashes and booms where on our house.
Lucky we got a little damage, others around us have a whole lot more. Our power was retored yesterday (Sept. 16th) around 3:00 p.m It was so hard without power you just can't image..We lost lots of food.
We have shingle damage, carpet damage, sheet rock damage, and most of our back fence is down. You wouldn't believe how many fences are down. Fema gave us Ice, which was nice but we could
use a lot more than that. Power is still out at my friends house, Please says prayers for us all down here so power can get restored soon and that stores open up soon so we can have food...

Hey, I'll modifiy my signature when I can okay, we just went thru heck and back, I've only now been able to get on the internet.
and when I did my signature there was no 10 line rules I knew of.....so sorry..........

I pray you can all get through this safely, and power gets returned to you soon!

Waiting for referral to rheumy to get a dx. waiting, waiting, waiting....

I'll be praying for everyone's comfort and safety and also for the power to come on.  It is pretty miserable without power.

Hi Chartreux-

So sorry you have had some damage but happy to hear that you have your power back. We get power outages here every spring/summer with the bad storms, but usually only for a few hours and even that amount of time I don't like. And to lose food. Groceries are not cheap anymore!

I try to watch CNN everyday for a little while and there are still so many people without power- and the pictures they are showing where there was once a neighborhood and then no longer there. I can't imagine!

Hang in there and hope that things start to return to normal for you soon-

GamJill

I am so glad that you are safe. I'm hearing terrible stories so it's good to hear that you didn't get too much damage. Prayers will be said for you, your family and everyone stuck in this horrible situation.
