I was wondering if someone could help me find a dr that specialized in fibro in my area. I looked on the FMA site and I can't get in to look for one. I had a heart to heart with my husband about my visit today and he does not want me going back to him. I am still going to get the bone scan because whoever I go to will most likely want one but he is worried and he saw me at my worst tonight. It is funny because tonight I was talking to a friend that I haven't spoken too in over a year and I was telling her all about how I been feeling and the first thing outta her mouth was "did they mention Fibro" I was floored, here her future mother in law has it and she said I sound just like her. I need help so I can get some relief.

Hi eyes!

I'd be happy to help if I knew what area you are in. I totally know the feeling of hurting so bad that sometimes I can't type a complete thought, let alone an entire post...lol

I did look at your profile and see that you're in PA...what area? Hahnemann University hospital is in Philadelphia...is that near you? If it were me I'd start somewhere large unless someone can give you a person recommendation. I would also shy away from the places that advertise being Fibromyalgia Centers and especially those who offer a 'cure'. Just my opinion there. You need a physician who can prescribe if you need.

Good luck and keep in touch!

perhaps if you posted just your town and state there may be someone on this forum who has a good Fibro Doc and could give you his/her name.

I am in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, and I am desperately trying to find a new doc that understands FM and cares about pain management. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thank you!

If you two have the same doctor, why don't you report him.  He shouldn't be allowed to practice with such a lack of compassion.

Well this isn't that close to you, but I see a Dr. Rosen in West Chester which is in Chester County. He's a rheumatologist, and seems like a really good doctor. The only complaint I have about him is that he wasn't very supportive when I told him I wanted to give malic acid a chance before I tried any more prescription meds, but he did say the reason he felt that way was because he had never treated anyone who has had success with malic acid so I guess that makes his reaction more excusable.

Oh I am so excited right now....I called my husbands neurologist to schedule his appt and I happened to ask the receptionist if he treated Fibro as well and she said he refers his patients out so I asked to whom and she gave me the name....She talked this lady up and said she is absolutely wonderful as a dr and over all person so I am waiting on that dr to get back to me to set up an appt. I am calling my family dr to get the bloodwork from the tuesday appt so I never have to go back to that office again

Leeman this office is in Doylestown
