I attended an awards ceremony last night for Goodwill Easter Seals. There was a motivational speaker that maybe could be an inspiration to some of you out there. His name is Jerry Traylor. One of his sentences that stuck with me is this:
Instead of complaining about what you can't do, find out what you can do. Do not whine to god for what he did not do for you, thank him for what he has given you.

Jerry Traylor is a motivational speaker with cerebral palsy. He is the only person to jog across America on crutches. Traylor underwent 14 corrective surgeries and spent nearly a year in the hospital when he was 6 years old. When crutches replaced the braces holding his legs at age 14, Traylor said he experienced a sense of freedom that was unbelievable. Traylor has also participated in the running of 35 marathons, climbed to the top of 14,110 foot Pike’s Peak, parachuting and other adventures.

I encourage everyone to look Jerry up on-line and learn how he has taken life's challenge and made the most of it.
Compared to what this guy has, Fibro is NOTHING!!!

Believe in yourself.  Be kind to fellow humans and animals.  Take time to smell the flowers and the coffee.
And by all means, when you are down, ask me for help.  I will be there.

Jokat,
If I weren't already married I think I might hunt you down and marry you! You have the most positive outlook! Thanks for the inspiration.

Jokat,

Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful, inspiring story!  I love stories like these.

I'm sorry it took me so long to respond.  I have a big deadline coming this coming Monday and have been working like a crazy woman trying to meet it.

Thanks again, Jokat!

Hey, thanks, Jokat!  Yes, it did.  Phew!  We made it just under the wire, but I am proud of what we accomplished.

That was just phase 1, though.  Now, on to phase 2...new deadline of Oct. 17th.

Hope all is well with you too.  Please keep sharing the inspiring stories.  When I'm sore and trying to stay focused on other things, these stories help me.

Take care,

Kerri
